Getting a new entertainment space in Reading

I needed a bespoke home bar after hosting a gathering where we ran out space. I chose to search near Reading Station.

I stumbled upon the website while browsing and sent photos. Central Bedroom and Kitchens replied with a price that seemed right for the job.

The journey of organising this project was honestly quite involved. I spent several days reflecting on the click here layout of the room before even choosing up the phone. My lounge area has always felt a bit unfinished, and having a dedicated area for drinks felt like the ideal solution to that issue. I remember sitting in my hallway staring at a messy surface filled with bottles and feeling that everything had to shift. The initial conversation with the staff was extremely straightforward, which gave me confidence. We discussed different styles, from contemporary minimalist designs to something traditional and timber finishes. I was quite impressed by how much detail they wanted regarding the dimensions and the existing interior of my home. It seemed like they genuinely desired the final result to match seamlessly with the balance of the property. I provided various views in the photos I sent, ensuring sure every nook was clear. They clarified that the bespoke type of the furniture meant that precision was entirely critical to avoid any issues throughout the installation. We moved back and back on potential materials, searching at swatches of quartz and various kinds of timber grain. It is amazing how many consideration goes into picking the correct hardware, like pulls and copyrights, which could completely alter the vibe of the entire construction. I needed a space where I could easily prepare drinks for friends without having to constantly run back to the pantry for lemons or glasses. The ease of having all items in a single place was the primary driver for this purchase. We finalised the design after a brief meeting where every one of my questions regarding plumbing and electric points were answered. I liked that they did not rush the design phase, spending the time to ensure that the width of the shelving was sufficient for my largest glassware. It felt like a collaborative effort rather than a standard transaction, which is rare to find nowadays.

The installation day came sooner than expected, and the technician was punctual and ready. He began by placing down safety covers to make sure my flooring stayed clean. Watching the components being unloaded was fascinating, as the quality of the wood was instantly evident. He meticulously checked the alignment of the floor before attaching the base structure of the bar. I watched as the skeleton slowly took shape, changing a plain corner into a functional feature. The degree of craftsmanship required in scribing the boards to the wonky surfaces of my period home was notable. He explained how each section slotted in to create total stability. We wasted a bit of duration choosing on the exact position for the integrated fridge, making sure it was accessible to open but tucked back from main sight. The fitting of the worktop was the highly satisfying part of the whole process. Seeing the smooth top finally resting on the base helped the vision feel real. He next installed the mirrored backsplash, which instantly caused the space to look twice the breadth. The LEDs were connected next, and checking them for the initial moment was a highlight. The warm light below the shelves showcased the glassware beautifully. I was able to see exactly how useful this might be for night events. The fitter was very careful, taking the effort to wipe down every surface and remove any debris made during the cutting. He also demonstrated me how to adjust the shelves if I later needed to store larger pieces. The attention to detail was truly great, right down to the sealant beads along the edges. It was obvious that he took immense satisfaction in his work, which is consistently reassuring to see. We conducted a final inspection of the finished work to ensure all was perfect. I observed that one handle was slightly wobbly, and he fixed it immediately with a quick turn of a screwdriver. This diligence was exactly what I was looking for when I arranged the service.

The completed bar looks completely stunning and has become the focal point of my home. It provides a sophisticated feel that had been formerly lacking from my reception space. The storage is immense, allowing me to organise all my liquors, mixers, and specialist glasses in a cohesive place. No more do I have to rummage through cramped cupboard cabinets to find a bottle opener or a specific kind of glass. Everything has its proper place, which renders entertaining so much simpler and stress-free. I enjoy the way the materials reflect the light in the evenings, making a inviting ambience. My friends have now complimented the design multiple times, with some actually asking for the contact of the people who built it. It truly feels like a bespoke extra made specifically for my lifestyle. The height of the surface is ideal for leaning around with a drink, and the integrated LED strips offer just the right level of glow without being too bright. Even when not in operation, it works as a beautiful item of furniture that elevates the entire aesthetic of the house. I used a bit time arranging my bottles on the racks to create a pleasing display. The mirrored panels really assist in displaying the labels and adding dimension to the tight space. It has inspired me to experiment creating new drinks that I previously felt were too complicated to attempt in a normal kitchen. Having the tap nearby might have been good, but the area constraints resulted in we decided without it to save storage room. This was a conscious choice we made during the planning phase, and I certainly not rue it. The additional drawer room for napkins and tools is far more valuable to me in the run term.

There were a couple of small drawbacks that are worth noting for a balanced perspective. The wait time for the custom doors was a little slower than I initially hoped. It lasted about eight weeks from the first deposit to the actual installation date. While this is understandable for tailored work, it meant a some of waiting on my end. I had hoped to have it ready for a specific birthday, but we missed that deadline by a week. However, the communication from the office about the delay were regular, so I was not left in the unknowing. I would wait a little longer for a product that is made to endure than receive a rushed job that fails after a few months. The start price estimate was also a little lower than the total bill, mostly because I decided to improve the hardware and add more internal lighting midway through the build. These changes were entirely my decision, and the company was very transparent about the additional costs required. Another small issue was the volume of boxes remaining after the install. Although the worker cleaned up the build area perfectly, there was a large pile of waste to dispose of in my bins. It was not a huge problem, but a thing to keep in mind if you possess limited bin room. Despite these small points, the total experience was very positive. The standard of the finish is far better to anything I might have bought from a shop. It feels sturdy and well-constructed, and I am sure it will withstand decades of parties. I feel the value it has added to my property well exceeds the initial outlay. It has transformed the way I enjoy my downstairs space, rendering it much more inviting. I not anymore sense cramped when people visit.

Reflecting back on the entire experience, I am really glad I opted forward with it. The initial spark came from a trip to a neighbour's place in Oxford, where they had a similar bar. I saw then how greatly it enhanced the flow of the party. When I got back to Reading, I began looking for nearby options and discovered that going with a bespoke outfit was the only way to get the exact look I wanted. The ability to pick each element, from the shade of the stain to the position of the plug outlets, made the end result was exactly as I envisioned. I also got a tiny hidden compartment included for keeping valuable items like fancy spoons. This kind of personalisation is what renders the service unique. It did not feel like a generic item being forced into a room where it didn't belong. Instead, it looks like it has always been a segment of the architecture. If you are considering a similar home upgrade, my advice would be to remain calm and spend the time on the design stage. It is much easier to change a sketch than it is to fix a unit once it is built. The knowledge offered during the beginning was invaluable in preventing me from doing common errors, such as placing the fridge too close to a heat source. These little bits of advice are what you pay for when you choose skilled professionals. I am now looking at other areas of my house to see where further I could add fitted solutions. The success of this bar job has given me the confidence to start a larger task in the kitchen later season. It is a wonderful addition to my life, and I look forward to numerous years of using it with relatives and friends. Finding the proper balance between looks and function was the aim, and I think we reached it completely. The journey from a messy corner to a sleek hosting hub was truly worth the effort and investment required. I today possess a space that I am really proud to show off to visitors. Reading has some great venues to visit for a cocktail, but truthfully, I now favour being at home and using my own private bar. It provides the identical feel without the crowds or the travel. That alone is deserving the entire project. I am very happy with how the lighting works in the evening, creating a chill space to relax after a busy shift at the office. It is the little luxuries like this that make home living so rewarding and enjoyable. I really value the workmanship that went into the final result. The manner the panels shut with a soft thud speaks volumes about the construction level. No aspect was overlooked, and the final look is precisely what I hoped it would be when I originally began this adventure. It is a credit to the talent of the team and the standard of the materials utilised. I am a truly satisfied client.
